Sarah & Dustin | Colorful Countryside Wedding in Wytheville, Virginia
Some wedding days feel like they were designed straight from a couple’s personality, and Sarah and Dustin’s wedding was exactly that.
Nestled on family property just outside Wytheville, Virginia, Sarah and Dustin’s wedding was the perfect blend of colorful details, meaningful traditions, and countryside charm. Surrounded by rolling fields, vibrant florals, and the people they love most, they created a wedding day that felt completely and authentically their own.
What made this celebration even more special was the location itself. Rather than choosing a traditional wedding venue, Sarah and Dustin exchanged vows on family land, transforming a beautiful hayfield into the perfect setting for their wedding day. Hosting their celebration on family land made every part of the day feel more meaningful, creating a setting filled with memories, history, and personal connection.
One of my favorite details was the ceremony setup. Rather than traditional rows of seating, guests were arranged in a circular formation around the couple. It created an incredibly intimate atmosphere where family and friends weren’t simply watching the ceremony... they were truly part of it. Surrounded by loved ones on all sides, Sarah and Dustin exchanged vows in a setting that felt intentional, personal, and full of love.
The colorful wedding palette brought so much life and joy to the day. Bright florals filled with shades of pink, orange, purple, yellow, and blue stood out beautifully against the natural backdrop of the family farm. The bridesmaids wore a mix of colorful dresses that perfectly complemented the vibrant bouquets, creating a fun and cheerful look that reflected the couple’s personalities so well.
If there’s one thing you need to know about Sarah and Dustin, it’s that they’re huge NFL fans. Their love for football was woven throughout the wedding day in some of the most creative ways. From custom NFL-inspired details to the wedding party sporting team socks, there were little nods to their favorite pastime everywhere you looked. These personal touches had guests smiling all day long and made the celebration feel even more authentic to who they are as a couple.
As guests gathered in the hayfield for the ceremony, the circular seating arrangement created one of the most unique wedding ceremonies I’ve had the privilege of photographing. With rolling hills and open countryside surrounding them, Sarah and Dustin promised forever while family and friends witnessed every meaningful moment from just a few feet away.
Following the ceremony, everyone celebrated beneath a beautiful white reception tent overlooking the family farm. Thoughtful details, colorful décor, heartfelt speeches, and plenty of laughter filled the evening. As the sun began to dip lower in the sky, the entire property seemed to glow in golden light.
The land is located close to the "Big Survey", which is public land, so we traveled up there for couples portraits. We wandered through the fields as the evening sunlight filtered through the trees, creating the dreamiest backdrop imaginable. Some of my favorite images from the day came from these quiet moments together.
As the sun set, guests returned to the tent for dancing, desserts, and celebration. String lights twinkled overhead while family and friends packed the dance floor and celebrated late into the evening. The entire day felt joyful, relaxed, and full of genuine connection.
Sarah and Dustin’s wedding was proof that the most memorable celebrations aren’t about extravagant venues or over-the-top details. They’re about creating a day that reflects who you are, celebrating with the people you love, and choosing a place that holds meaning to your story. From the colorful florals and unique circular ceremony to the NFL-inspired details and stunning family farm setting, every part of this wedding told Sarah and Dustin’s story perfectly.
Sarah and Dustin, thank you for trusting Midnight Mountain Photography to capture such an incredible day. It was an honor to document every laugh, happy tear, and unforgettable memory. Wishing you both a lifetime of love, happiness, and plenty of football Sundays together.
