Some weddings simply feel like an extension of the couple’s personalities, and Grace and Zach’s day was exactly that. Every detail reflected their free-spirited hearts, creating a celebration that felt effortlessly colorful, joyful, and full of adventure. If there was ever a wedding for the hippie at heart, this was it.

Set against the beautiful mountain backdrop of Lovewell Lodge in Pembroke, Virginia, their wedding blended boho charm with the natural beauty of Southwest Virginia. Rich earth tones mixed with vibrant pops of color, dried florals, macramé details, and eclectic décor created a day that felt warm, welcoming, and completely unique.

The details were some of my favorites this year. From the colorful invitation suite to the bride’s stunning pearl heels, every piece fit together perfectly. The reception space inside the rustic lodge was transformed with soft fabrics, vibrant florals, and cozy bohemian touches that made it feel intimate while still celebrating the beauty of the outdoors.

Mother Nature had her own plans for the day, bringing on-and-off rain showers from morning until night. But if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that some of the most beautiful wedding days come with a little rain. Grace and Zach embraced every moment without letting the weather steal their joy, and it paid off in the best way possible.

Just when we thought the skies were finished surprising us, a gorgeous rainbow appeared over the mountains. We hurried to capture portraits beneath it, and they quickly became some of the most magical images of the entire day. Moments like those can never be planned.. they simply become part of your story.

Another unforgettable part of the day was the vintage Volkswagen bus waiting for portraits. It was the perfect addition to their boho vision and gave us some of the most fun, personality-filled photos. Between the colorful bouquets, flowing veil, mountain views, and iconic VW bus, every portrait felt like it belonged in a vintage road trip love story.

As evening settled over Lovewell Lodge, family and friends gathered beneath the trees to celebrate the newest Mr. and Mrs. There were happy tears, heartfelt hugs, laughter, dancing, and so much love filling every corner of the day. Even with the rain, there wasn’t a single moment that felt anything less than perfect.

Grace and Zach’s wedding was a beautiful reminder that the best celebrations aren’t about perfect weather—they’re about choosing joy no matter what the forecast says. Their day was colorful, carefree, full of love, and completely unforgettable.
